Direct Instruction (DI)

Direct Instruction (DI), focuses on improving basic academic skills including reading, writing, and math. DI programs have been developed and refined for decades with more than 35 years of research on how children learn and the most effective ways to teach. Programs are designed to breakdown skills into their component parts and teach these skills to mastery before moving on to the next step. DI is a valuable tool for students who are struggling academically. These programs are powerful in a 1:1 setting or group instruction.

How can DI help your child?

  • Support below level readers
  • Identify and support skill gaps
  • Teach/improve language, mathematics and writing skills
  • Teach/improve critical thinking, problem solving and retention skills
