Sensory, Thinking, Organization, Motor Planning and Problem Solving

STOMP is a therapist-led program that uses sensory-motor and socially-interactive activities within a group context to facilitate the development of higher level skills of participants such as conflict resolution, management of own behaviours, self-regulation, anxiety management and theory of mind.

 

Group Objectives:
This is an innovative group opportunity for children experiencing behaviour, sensory and social difficulties. The program combines behavioural and sensory techniques to develop social peer skills, including:

  • Winning/losing
  • Team building
  • Personal space
  • Self-confidence
  • Sharing and turn taking
  • Communication
  • And more!

Stratagies Include:

  • Practicing peer skills WITH PEERS!
  • Sensory techniques to assist with regulation,
  • attention and focus
  • Principals of Applied Behaviour Analysis-
  • motivation, reinforcement
  • Therapist and peer modeling
  • Skill streaming - developing social and peer skills through role play and practice
  • Providing opportunities for success and challenges
  • Continuous open conversation and self reflection throughout


Facilitated By:
Groups will be facilitated by an Occupational Therapist and Instructor Therapist.

Program Fees:
$560 for 5 week program plus a consultation with the Occupational Therapist at the end of the program. A 50% deposit will be taken at the time of registration and the balance on the first day. Fees cannot be refunded due to absence or missed session. Fees may be covered by extended health insurance and can be claimed under the Children’s Activity Tax Credit and/or other funding.  Please contact your local CST for more information.

Cancellation Policy:
Registration deposits are 100% refundable, provided that cancellation is received at lest one week prior to the first class. Deposits are non-refundable if less than one week notice is given, unless your child’s spot can be filled by another child on our waiting list.
