Waterloo TeamSite Director, Speech-Language Pathologist, WaterlooBrooke has a Master of Clinical Science in Speech-Language Pathology degree from the University of Western Ontario (2005) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Huron University College (2001). She came to blueBalloon in 2009 with four years of pediatric experience in the Peterborough-Northumberland area, where she was raised. Having worked for the Ministry of Children and Youth Services in a children’s treatment centre, Brooke brings with her a strong knowledge of the public preschool speech-language system, experience participating as a team member within a multi-disciplinary approach, and a passion for family-centered care. Brooke is a registered member of the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) and is a Certified member of the Canadian Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (CASLPA). Brooke is Hanen® certified in It Takes Two to Talk® and Target Word® and has been trained in many therapy approaches including Lidcombe (stuttering treatment) and PROMPT (oral-motor techniques). Brooke has a special interest in the area of apraxia and oral motor sequencing. She has spent direct time observing and learning from Nancy Kaufman and comfortably employs the Kaufman Speech to Language Protocol (KSLP) with her clients. |
