Waterloo TeamPhysiotherapist, WaterlooHeather received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Western Ontario and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Waterloo. She is a member of the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Heather received a Therapy Scholarship for academic achievements in Physical Therapy and for her strong interest in pediatrics. Heather’s experience in orthopedics has given her an extensive understanding of the human body in relation to movement. Her post-graduate course training included acupuncture, therapeutic taping, level 1 Manual Therapy, McKenzie Institute training, Mulligan Concepts, and a variety of training specific to the sacroiliac joint, spinal injuries, hip, knee, shoulder and ankle joint as well as TMJ disorders. She is now excited to be following her passion and working with children! During her training, Heather completed a placement at Kids Ability, Waterloo. There she worked with children in the community and at the centre. She assisted in treating children with various genetic disorders, neuromuscular conditions, cerebral palsy, torticollis/plagiocephaly, gross motor delay and hypotonia. Heather has recently started her post-graduate course work in Neuro-Developmental Training and is looking forward to receiving her CME certification this year. |
