Megan Fife

Instructional Therapist, Waterloo

Megan completed her undergrad at Kings University College (University of Western Ontario) with a major in Childhood and Social Institutions and a minor in Sociology. She then completed a post-graduate certification program at Fanshawe College in Autism and Behaviour Sciences, where she gained valuable placement experience in both an IBI and ABA setting. Megan has spent a couple years volunteering at the Thames Valley school board where she worked with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). It was during this time, while working with a little boy transitioning into a new school, that Megan found her passion for working with children on the spectrum. Megan is trained in VB-MAPP Assessment which gives teachers and parents an effective way to assess the learning, language, and social skills of children with autism or other developmental disabilities. As well, Megan is trained in the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), allowing her to teach non-verbal children a functional way of communicating with those around them, and to work with parents and teach them how PECS can be implement at home. Megan is flexible and thinks “out of the box” when developing programs to make it work for the child and is always willing to try new and different strategies.
