Ashley Faux

Ashley received an Honors Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a specialization in Child Development at McMaster University. During this time she completed her thesis, “Effects of Kindermusik training on infants’ rhythmic enculturation”, which was later published in the Developmental Science (2010) journal. Ashley also received a Masters of Occupational Therapy from the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia and received the OT Australia QLD Jenny Strong Medal for achieving the highest standard across academics and clinical placement. Ashley has developed a program for the use of the Sensory Profile within a child and youth mental health facility and has completed her Handwriting Without Tears program training. She is a licensed Kindermusik educator and enjoys incorporating elements of yoga into therapy sessions to assist children in the development of their attention and fine motor skills. As a past staff member at The Hospital for Sick Children Ashley coordinated volunteer and student programs which provided care for children in outpatient day clinics and inpatient units. She also fostered leadership opportunities within the hospital aimed at improving teamwork and communication amongst peer groups. Ashley has had a long-standing passion for supporting children and their families and working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team at blurballoon.
