Clinical Director, Speech Language Pathology, BurlingtonAmy has a Bachelor of Arts honours degree in Linguistics and a Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology. She is a registered member of the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO). Amy is also Hanen® certified in It Takes Two to Talk® and More Than Words® and has been trained in many other therapy approaches including Lidcombe (stuttering treatment), Kaufman Speech to Language Protocol (KSLP) and Sara Rosenfeld-Johnson's Oral Placement Therapy (OPT) Level 3. Amy’s OPT Level 3 certification allows her to provide advanced assessment and program planning for children experiencing muscle-based speech and/or feeding challenges. Having worked for the Ministry of Children and Youth Services in a children’s treatment center, Amy has a strong knowledge of the public preschool speech-language system, experience participating as a team member within an interdisciplinary approach and a passion for family-centered care. Over the years, Amy has worked with children with a variety of communication difficulties including literacy, articulation, oral placement, expressive and/or receptive language disorders, voice and stuttering. |
