Tara Dawson

Communication Disorder Assistant, Burlington

Tara has expressed an interest in the field of speech and language since attending a career fair in high school. At that point, she started to volunteer to solidify her decision to pursue a career in the area of communicative disorders. Tara graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 2003 with an Honors Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and completed her Senior Honors Thesis, The Understanding of Emotion In Speech. She later graduated from the Communicative Disorders Assistant post-degree program at Durham College in 2004. Tara has been a dedicated blueballoon employee for 5 years now and is known by other staff as the go-to person for group facilitation. She is passionate about helping others see the true benefit of blueballoon groups and the multidisciplinary opportunities that persist. She has successfully planned and implemented many group programs throughout her years. Tara has a special interest in the area of social communication.
