Cassandra Sforza

Instructor Therapist, Aurora

Cassandra received her Specialized Honours in Psychology from York University. During her undergraduate she completed a class in Behaviour Modification and Behaviour Therapy where she explored the different theoretical approaches of behaviour modification. Cassandra then designed and implemented her own behaviour modification program appling the principles of ABA. Additionally, Cassandra completed a seminar course in Counselling Psychology where she studied various theoretical approaches including: client-centered, humanistic, and cognitive-behavioural therapy. Within this course, she also completed extensive research on play therapy, which views play as a natural medium of communication for children to express themselves and explore their emotions. Cassandra has many years of experience working closely with children in camps as an integration counsellor, supervisor, and director where she was responsible for ensuring that all children, despite their exceptionalities, could participate. She also volunteered at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehab where she supported children with musculoskeletal, developmental, and neuromotor conditions. Cassandra began as a volunteer at blueballoon's Aurora clinic, assisting therapists in sessions and is now thrilled to be a therapist herself!
