Many of our clients have social targets set within their goals or would like to be working on social targets.  The challenge with addressing these targets during their usual therapy sessions include limited opportunities for structured social interaction which provides the framework needed to make valuable social gains.  It has also been noted that although our clients are able to demonstrate many skills with an instructor or familiar adult, they are not able to generalize these same skills with peers or within a group setting.  Let's socialize is a group that was developed to address this challenge. Groups are kept small in size with an approximate ratio of 2 participants to 1 facilitator.  This controlled, structured environment paired with set targets, a goal oriented curriculum and themed activities will foster social growth and generalize appropriate behaviors.
Group Focus:
This group is oriented around directing children in developing appropriate social skills in a classroom type setting using ABA methods and goals. 

Your child will learn how to:

• Wait appropriately during activities/games
• Interactively play with peers
• Respond to questions from instructors and peers
• Attend to activities
• Follow instructions and request items  

Each group will have 10 basic goals that will be selected around what the needs are for the individuals enrolled.   A Senior Behaviour Consultant will be attending sessions throughout the course to monitor and modify the curriculum as needed.  

This group may be appropriate for children with:

• ADHD
• Aspergers Disorder
• Autism Spectrum Disorder
• Other social and behavioural problems

Facilitated By:
Groups will be lead by either 2 Instructor Therapists or 1 Instructor Therapist and a student/volunteer and supervised by a Speech-Language Pathologist and Behaviour Consultant.

Program Fees:
$560. Fees cannot be refunded due to absence or missed session. A deposit of 50% will be taken at the time of registration and the balance on the first day of the group.

Cancellation Policy:
Registration deposits are 100% refundable, provided that cancellation is received no later than one week prior to the first session. Deposits are non-refundable if less than one week notice is given, unless your child’s spot can be filled by another child on our waiting list (in which case, 100% will be refunded).
